This type of pasta has a thin shape and looks like as rolled up on itself. It has a rough surface that makes it particularly suitable for both rich and full-bodied and simple sauces. Caserecce means "homemade". It 's not like the usual standard pasta you get from any supermarket. Try it with one of our amazing sauces (in the Sauces section).
Like any other type of pasta Caserecce is very versatile, that's the beauty! the possibilities are endless. Try it simply with a tomato sauce and grated Parmigiano Reggiano cheese or ricotta salata (Salsa pronta di Pomodorino Ciliegino e Ricotta salata The Montanara in the Cheese section of our website). Ideal also to enhance the typical Mediterranean flavours such asaubergines, tomatoes and basil. Le Caserecce are a version of "pasta Busiata" of Arabic origin, made with "bus" (the barrel of a plant that was used to wrap the dough) they are from Sicily but a typical product of the whole South of Italy.
